Gold Coast Knights Announce Scott Mcdonald as Football Director
Gold Coast Knights Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Scott McDonald as Football Director.
Joining the Knights after a successful spell as Senior Men’s Manager at the club for the past three years. Scott has had tremendous success to date, most recently winning back-to-back NPL titles and leading the senior squad to a treble-winning season in 2023.
Moving into the role, McDonald will oversee the club across all programs alongside the respective lead of departments.
Upon the appointment, Scott said: “I’m really really proud to have been given the opportunity as Football Director of this Football Club. With the club being in such a good space as well through 2024, we will look to build on all facets of the football club.”
“The future is bright and positive and brim for us. But we’ve really got to hit the ground running for 2025, and all I see is improvement. I don’t stand still as an individual or for us as a club.”
Prior to joining the club in 2021, the former Socceroo Striker representative played internationally, scoring around 200 goals in more than 600 games during his 23-year playing career.
He said: “I’m very passionate about seeing others succeed here, you know! And that’s where now I get the opportunity to do that more so… I think that it’s really, really important that we now nail down who we are and what we are, and we’ll certainly see that in 2025.”
McDonald will be taking on the role with immediate effect alongside his position as first team Mens Manager for 2025.
