Gold Coast Knights Football Club host the 2024 Victory Tour, with a total of 7 academy clubs taking part (including A League club Melbourne Victory). Over the Easter Holidays, Knights hosted 109 games and had 370+ players battling it out across 3 days.

Academy Director Paul Montgomery said, “The big bonus has been getting the kids to play over Easter, to be able to give them 10/12 games has been brilliant for them. Managing to get other clubs up too with Melbourne Victory, which is something different, has also been really good.”

“All the coaches and staff members have been brilliant, from our club to others as well, everyone has chipped in to make sure everything ran smoothly.”

The age groups consisted of U13-15 girls and U10-14 boys, with the final day of everyone enjoying a well-earned day of beach football.

Football Pathways Manager Gareth Tunbull also shared his thoughts: “It’s been incredible, on and off the pitch its been a great learning moment for all the kids, we’ve found some real challenges against the likes of knights and some of the other big NPL clubs, that’s been a big effort! ”

“A big shout out to Paul, he’s been incredible in getting everything set up, and a big shoutout to the first team boys that have jumped in so hats off all-round. We’ve found some real value in it and speaking with the club they want to make it an annual thing. So it’s a lot of work to go in at this point but we’ll look to be back next year for sure.”

A massive thank you to everyone on and off the pitch who made the tour happen, bring on next year!
